"Between here and elsewhere"
bernard rouyard has always been drawing, engraving and painting.
my way of painting is above all to experience painting.
for a painter to find an open path in the free is more important than
the outcome. and it is difficult to say it.
because painting is not an image; it only reveals one approach: to make color ring in its reports, without this being an end.
matter, form and colored vibrations are sensitive elements that nourish the search for a pictorial atmosphere and function one by the other and not one without the other.
painting is probably less about adding than removing; paint is composed by decomposing.
Workshops, figures, landscapes, interiors and exteriors, are the source of my work.
